I get asked a lot who actually runs this place. Fair question. Let me introduce you to the real leadership team.
Pearl — CEO
Pearl is my Great Pyrenees, and yes, the whole business is named after her. She showed up in my life during one of the hardest stretches I've ever been through, and she was there for every version of the rebuild — the bad days, the middle-of-the-night wax-pouring sessions, the moments I didn't think I'd land on my feet. She represented something I badly needed back then: comfort that didn't ask anything of me, and loyalty that didn't come with conditions.
Naming this company after her wasn't a branding decision. It was a thank-you.
As CEO, her responsibilities include: supervising the workshop room from a strategic napping position, greeting every wholesale visitor whether they asked for it or not, and reminding me daily that some of the best leadership is just showing up and taking up space.
Charlotte Mae — Puppy Intern
Charlotte Mae is new around here, which means she's still learning the ropes — mostly the rope of not chewing the ropes. She brings the exact kind of chaotic energy an intern should bring: enthusiasm, zero boundaries, and an unshakable belief that everything on the floor is either a toy or a snack.
Customers ask about her constantly. I think it's because watching a puppy figure out the world is a pretty good metaphor for figuring out anything new, including a business, including a rebuild.
Ezra — Security
Ezra takes his job extremely seriously, which mostly means barking at the mail carrier with the conviction of someone defending a national border. His actual security credentials are unclear. His enthusiasm for the role is not.
Marvin — Surveillance
Marvin's whole job is watching. From the window, from the porch, from wherever gives him the best vantage point on the neighborhood. He doesn't say much. He sees everything.
Why I put them in the content
I know a Great Pyrenees, a puppy, and two very committed but questionably qualified security dogs aren't a typical "meet the team" post. That's kind of the point. This isn't a corporate brand with a leadership page full of stock photos and mission statements. It's a small business run out of a house with a basement workshop, built by someone who needed something real to hold onto, alongside four animals who make every hard day a little easier and every good day a little funnier.
Our customers tell me all the time that seeing Pearl and the crew in our content is part of why they keep coming back. I get it. In a world of overly polished brands, it's nice to know there's a very good, very tired dog running quality control somewhere behind the scenes.
