AI Transparency Policy

Last updated: July 24, 2026

Pearl and Company ("we," "us," "our") believes in being upfront about how we run this business — that includes how we use artificial intelligence (AI). This page explains where AI tools show up in what we do, and just as importantly, where they don't.

Where We Use AI

Like most small businesses today, we use AI tools to help us work more efficiently. Specifically:

  • Marketing content: We may use AI tools (such as Claude and ChatGPT) to help draft, edit, or brainstorm marketing copy, including social media captions, emails, blog posts, and product descriptions. All AI-assisted content is reviewed and edited by a real person — Kelsey Davey, our founder — before it's published.
  • Visuals and design: We may use AI-assisted design tools (such as features within Canva) to help create or edit graphics, social media visuals, and other marketing materials. Our products themselves — every candle, wax melt, and diffuser — are hand-poured and hand-made by us, not by AI or automated manufacturing.
  • Customer service: We may use AI tools to help draft or speed up responses to customer inquiries (for example, suggesting a reply to an email). Any AI-assisted customer communication is reviewed by a real person before it's sent. We do not currently use an automated AI chatbot to respond to customers without human review.
  • Internal operations: We use AI tools for internal, non-customer-facing purposes such as research, planning, and administrative tasks. These uses don't directly touch the content, products, or communications you see.

What AI Does Not Do

  • AI does not make our candles, choose our fragrances, or make product safety decisions.
  • AI does not make final decisions about orders, refunds, or customer disputes.
  • AI-generated or AI-assisted content is not published or sent without human review.

Accuracy and No Warranty

While we review AI-assisted content before it's used, AI tools can occasionally produce inaccurate, outdated, or imperfect information. We do not guarantee that any AI-assisted content on this site or in our communications is error-free. Product descriptions, safety information, and instructions should always be treated as general guidance — if you have a specific question about ingredients, safety, or use of a product, please contact us directly at questionkelsey@gmail.com before relying on any single source of information.

Nothing on this site, whether AI-assisted or not, constitutes professional, medical, or safety advice. If you have a health condition, allergy, or sensitivity, please consult a qualified professional before using scented products.

Your Information and AI Tools

When we use third-party AI tools to help with content or customer service, we do not input your personal financial information (such as full payment card numbers) into those tools. General inquiry content may be referenced to help draft a response. For full details on how we collect, use, and protect your personal information, please see our Privacy Policy.

Why We're Telling You This

Transparency is one of our core values — not just about our story, but about how we run this business day to day. As AI becomes a bigger part of how small businesses operate, we think you deserve to know where it shows up in ours. If that ever changes in a meaningful way, we'll update this page.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this AI Transparency Policy from time to time as our tools, processes, or applicable laws change. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of this site after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy. This policy should be read together with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
